I’d like to introduce you to my book of poetry, F*CK EVERYTHING. I began writing it during the pandemic and its message is one of hope. I will serialise it a poem at a time, but it is also designed to be read as one long poem.

I have teamed up with the incredible Yvonne Burgess, who has provided matching illustrations for the poems. Her work has been likened to Picasso’s line drawings.

I dedicate this book to my heart donor. I am grateful for the reboot.

interrupted.

stuck in limbo

you were moving into the world

finding your place

but find yourself back at home

my heart heard you

what can I do to help

easy you say

guide us

We are living in confronting times, particularly for those of us for whom this is the first time we’ve had the proverbial rug pulled out from under us.

One moment we were settling into this being an adult groove. The next, we have so many questions:

what is happening

what story are we in

what do I need right now

how has my value system been recalibrated

how can i tend to others

What do you do now that your reassuring narratives have been shattered? We assure you everything will be OK.
